Each October UniqueSource celebrates National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). This national event recognizes the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities, past and present, and showcases supportive, inclusive employment policies and practices that benefit employers and employees.

UniqueSource celebrates National Disability Employment Awareness Month by hosting an awareness event in the Pennsylvania State Capitol. We invite our Member employers to join us in demonstrating how they grow employment opportunities for Pennsylvanians with disabilities as part of our network of affirmative employers. We also participate in events held by other disability employment champions and work with both the PA House and Senate to pass resolutions designating October as Disability Employment Awareness Month.

The poster is rectangular in shape and features a collage of six photos of diverse people with a range of disabilities working in various inclusive workplaces. These photos appear in colored circles against a blue-sky background. Underneath the photos on a white background is a graphic image of a black, winding road leading up to them. To the side of the road, the words “Access to Good Jobs for All” and “National Disability Employment Awareness Month” appear. In the upper right corner, “#NDEAM” and “dol.gov/odep” are displayed. In the lower right corner is the DOL seal with the words “Office of Disability Employment Policy, United States Department of Labor” next to it.

The Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) under the U.S. Department of Labor develops a theme each year and provides a wide variety of resources. Celebrating the value and talent workers with disabilities add to America’s workplaces and economy, the 2023 National Disability Employment Awareness Month (#NDEAM) theme is “Access to Good Jobs for All."
